The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.

Five Oaths
As a member of the collective, you have become something larger than yourself. You are to think of that for everything you do, your brothers become your highest priority.

~Let your blade never touch an innocent without cause~
~Die before you compromise the integrity of the Collective~
~Obey your superiors, they trust you with their lives, return the favor~
~Do not commit a war with another group, unless given orders~
~Only a Prime, may kill another Collective Agent~
~The Collective, above yourself~

Picking a Hideout

Shelter is one of the main factors that keeps an anti-citizen alive, safe and at least a little rested. The area and it's layout depends on the anti-Union activities the anti-citizen had or is committing. For example, a man who had been set as a B.O.L ( Be On Lookout in Civil Protection terms ) is residing in the most off-set and the least patrolled areas of the city in horrid conditions. On the other hand, a man who supports the resistance in secret can have the standard or advanced citizen housing.

A well defined, shelter is vital to the Collective. It provides; a place to meet up, store equipment, or rest without the threat of protection units breathing down your neck.

Factors that should affect your choice of a shelter are:
(•) Escape paths. "If I leave through the side-entrance, which way should I take?"
(•) Interior visibility from outside. "If I cover this door, could they see me through the window?"
(•) Amount of citizen visitations. "Is someone maybe using this?"
(•) Close quarters. "If they storm in through the front, what's the closest cover?"
(•) Space. "How much of us can fit here?"
(•) Stealth. "If they walk past it, will they know there is a room here?"

Anti-Citizen

What forms of people are there, part of the underground network that is the Collective?

Anti-citizen
Anti-citizen is an individual that has had their crimes reported - thus, they are a actively sought after by protection teams.

Refugee
Refugee is someone that has decided to abandon their civil status and 'disassociate' themselves from the generalized workforce.
The characteristics of a simple refugee would be seen on the first glimpse. Their clothing dirtied and torn, their physique greatly malnourished and their daily presence at the most off-set locations, preferably the furthest from the civil protection. They have chosen the more difficult, but more free way of living their live - they are to survive in maximum subtlety and non-notorious to the civil protection, scavenge or work illegally for their daily needs. They are often hesitant to join a resistance cell, as their main priority is survival.

Rebel
Rebel is an individual that has decided to 'resist' the socio-protective edicts enforced by civil protection, either mentally or physically, and wishes to see the downfall of the combine's authoritarian regime.

Similar to an anti-citizen, the term rebel is assigned to those that actively commit actions illegal by the benefactor terms with the intent to disturb and bring down the Combine dominance, as written in the quote. They are in possession normally of contraband items for defense or other reasons. If they are not already part of a group, they are prime recruit candidates.

Capture

"The quickest way to end a war is to lose it." -George Orwell

In all seriousness, it's unlikely that you will survive interrogation. Almost all interrogation of anti-citizens ends with the anti-citizen dead. Besides this fact, it is of paramount importance to remember all those counting on you not to bend to the will of your captors.

Remain calm, at all times. Endure the pain, fall back on training if you were given it. Let them know that their tactics of fear and physical torture will not work on you.

Make your injuries seem larger than they are, this will buy you time, or allow you to escape when medical intervention is taken.

Remember that they need you. If you die then they have nothing.

Attempt escape whenever the opportunity presents itself. You will either get out, or you will be killed.

Push them into killing you by accident, you will die with the information you are sworn to protect.

Incognito

-Identity-

To gather information, you must take on an identity; this can be one close to your actual personality or one that's totally different. You must select a personality that will aid you best in your information gathering. Once you choose it and go out and meet people, you can't change it if those people are still alive and around to notice the shift.

-Masking-

Make no mistake; once you are this person, you are to remain in character. It's like acting; you must never break character no matter how bad things get. If you choose to gather intel by posing as a prostitute, you're fucking doing it. If you're posing as a loyalist, you better call in that criminal for the points. Never forget your mission, but never break character. You'll often find yourself doing things against your interest but that is how things are.

-Infiltration-

Getting into a position of respect takes time, but is very useful. It allows you to have access to resources that would be otherwise difficult or impossible. The higher you get the more pull you have. As well as doubt you will be working against the Unions interest. These positions may be temporary, as in some positions like a protection unit you may be forced to wipe memories. Make sure to pull out before this occurs.

Your Story

Hold those things that tell your history and protect them. During hiding from certain death, who was able to read or write or keep anything? The ability to have somebody to tell your story to is so important. It says: 'I was here. I may be killed tomorrow. But you know I was here.'
